I am happy to report another wonderful act of mercy from the Quinquennial Congress of the Secular Franciscan Order in St. Louis. This year the Secular Franciscan Order in America is looking to begin twinning relationships with people in Africa in need. At the Q, Sister Caritas Barajingitwa, LSOSF came to talk about her work with an orphanage in Uganda, and was the recent winner of the JPIC (Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation) National Award. Sister Caritas came to the Q hoping to get contribution to help build a school. I was very proud of my brothers and sisters who opened up their wallets to gave $6,450 to Sister Caritas’ cause for a new school. What a great way to end the Q — with a gracious act of mercy. Check out Sister Caritas’ website for the orphanage with more details and ways you can help.
