Today is the Feast of the Visitation. We Franciscans take special joy in this feast as it is part of the Seven Joys of Mary, that make up the seven mysteries in our Franciscan Crown Rosary. The Visitation has great meaning to us all, as it represents the joy of messianic salvation, with Jesus in Mary making John the Baptist jump for joy in Elizabeth’s womb. We should all take great joy every day that Jesus offers us mercy through eternal salvation with him in Heaven.
